Web Pages by the Rules
Hands On Communication released Web pages by the rules in the Summer of 2010. Web pages by the rules is the most recent of a very limited selection of books that help people learn how to build web pages and web sites conforming to the current W3C standards. And it is the first one to be published on DVD.
Web pages by the rules teaches all of the common XHTML elements: text, lists, images forms, tables and more, helping people learn how to make the most of them. The author describes how to use relevant CSS to make even the simplest pages look wonderful. "The advantage of the DVD format," the author says, "is the text becomes a web site. There are links between chapters, and the Table of Contents is one giant list of links. So the reader can read anything in the book in any order they wish."
The book includes video demonstrations to help newcomers to the technology get started. Most chapters have a multiple choice quiz to test the reader's understanding of new concepts. There is even a chapter about web page and site design, a rarity in most books at any level for this topic.
